Our data (and photography) is our most precious asset and it's protected by copyright.
We are determined to provide our paying customers with a full value subscription, and to punish any attempts from non-paying users to steal our data.
The biggest victims of the data theft are our clients. It hurts our clients because it means that companies who have not paid for the service are nevertheless receiving it. This increases the level of competition our paying-subscribers face in an already difficult marketplace and could ultimately cost our clients the price of a deal

Our History
Twenty years ago CoStar Group, Inc. - a NASDAQ quoted company (
NASDAQ: CSGP) - revolutionised the industry with a simple yet powerful idea: create the most thoroughly researched, unbiased source of commercial property information anywhere. Today CoStar's proprietary database covers more than 2 million properties, over 37 billion square feet of inventory across all commercial property types and classes and includes more than 3 million high-resolution photographs and images in its digital library.
Headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, CoStar has approximately 1,300 employees, including the largest professional research organization in the industry.
Our UK & European Presence
Having established itself in the US as the main information provider, CoStar first entered the UK commercial property market in January 2003 by acquiring
FOCUS Information Limited and, a year later, the
Scottish Property Network (SPN). This positioned it very strongly at local, regional and national level for office and industrial availability, as well as research.
In December 2006, CoStar also acquired Paris-based
GRECAM, hence signaling its expansion into Europe.
In February 2007, with the further UK acquisitions of
Propex, a unique online trading platform and data exchange for the commercial property investment community, and
Shopproperty, the largest database of retail availability, CoStar was unequivocally established as the leading source of Commercial Real Estate Information in the UK.
