Signature Senior Lifestyle secures Marlow consent
Signature Senior Lifestyle, the owner and operator of UK care homes, has secured planning consent for a new care home in Marlow, Bucks.
Permission was granted for a 78-bed, high quality care home – complete with a specialist dementia community for up to 16 residents.
The care home, which represents a £21m investment in the town of Marlow, near High Wycombe, brings Signature’s care home portfolio to nine homes either operational or under construction.
The Marlow care home, to be built at 210-218 Little Marlow Road, comprises 57,000sq ft of floor space set over three storeys within extensively landscaped gardens.
Signature provides generously sized en-suite accommodation, larger than that prescribed in government guidance on best practice.
The Marlow care home follows hot on the heels of the approval of a new care home in Kingston-upon-Thames, Signature’s first to be granted planning permission in London, in February this year.
Wayne Pryce, for Signature Senior Lifestyle said: “We are delighted to gain planning permission for our new care home in Marlow, the first to be delivered as part of our recent £75m joint venture partnership with Heitman which will enable us to build three further care homes in London and the south east.
“We will be making a £21m investment in Marlow, creating up to 80 jobs and helping to address the significant shortfall in quality care homes in the area.
“We hope to begin construction before the end of the year and, once opened, Marlow will go alongside our existing high quality care homes in Surrey, Kent, Yorkshire and Leicester and those soon to open in Brentwood, Epsom and Kingston.”
