Canary Wharf Novotel opens
The HotelInvest division of AccorHotels has opened its new flagship Novotel in London’s Canary Wharf to guests. The hotel represents an investment of over £90m from HotelInvest.
The Novotel Canary Wharf is situated at 40 Marsh Street and at 127 metres high is one of the tallest buildings in the area, with 360 degree views of London taking in sights including The Shard, the Olympic Park and Greenwich Park.
The hotel has 313 rooms including 26 suites, and offers nine meeting rooms, a state-of-the-art gym and swimming pool on the lower ground floor and free Wi-Fi throughout.
The hotel is a £90m marquee investment for HotelInvest, which was formed in November 2013 when the group took the decision to split its business into two distinct fields of expertise: HotelServices, the hotel operator and franchisor, and HotelInvest, the hotel owner and investor.
Other UK properties to be added to its portfolio recently include the recently-opened 231-room ibis which opened in Cambridge in 2016 and the soon-to-be-opened 196-room ibis at Canning Town, London.
John Ozinga, Chief Executive Officer of HotelInvest said: “This hotel has been constructed in a sustainable way and to the highest standards, aiming to achieve the BREEAM ‘Excellent’ status. It will become a flagship Novotel not only in the UK but worldwide and will further bolster our portfolio in an important growing market.
“We remain focused on new growth opportunities and are actively seeking new developments in exceptional locations in the UK and elsewhere.”
