JLL recruits Marcus Wood as head of out of town retail and leisure

Retail & leisure investment expert Marcus Wood is to join JLL's retail team as head of out of town retail and leisure, CoStar News can reveal.

Wood, who has had an unbroken 24 year career with Cushman & Wakefield (formerly DTZ), will join JLL as Head of Out of Town Retail and Leisure and become a member of the Retail Board.

During his career, Wood has become a well-known retail investment and development consultant and a leisure expert.

Leading the Cushman & Wakefield Out of Town Retail Team for over 10 years, Wood has worked closely with numerous clients, including Legal & General, Aviva, Aberdeen, DTZi and Kier.

Tim Vallance, Head of UK Retail & Leisure at JLL said: "I have known and worked opposite Marcus for most of my career and I am pleased to able to bring such a popular and diligent market leader to our team. Adding both him and Nick Hart to our team this year gives us even more strength in depth and the highest possible level of retail and leisure capital markets expertise.”

Vallance added: “JLL's Out of Town Retail & Leisure team is leading the market in 2017 with over £800m of investment transactions producing a market share of 22% in retail warehousing and 67% in leisure.”

On Wednesday of last week Cushman & Wakefield announced it had recruited Kevin Farrow as Head of UK Retail Occupier Agency.

Cushman said the appointment of Farrow as Partner will build further growth and coordination of the firm’s significant Retail Occupier Services business in the UK and platform into Europe.
