intu and M&G Real Estate have signed Footasylum to take a unit on New Cannon Street at Manchester Arndale for the brand's second women's concept store in the UK.

The fashion streetwear and sportswear retailer will take a 7,200 sq ft space having signed a 10-year lease as a result of upsizing its 4,700 sq ft existing store at Manchester Arndale.

Footasylum will also take a further 2,700 sq ft, unit also on a 10-year lease, for its new Footasylum Women's concept. The women's store will be directly above the current Footasylum store but will remain standalone.

Manchester Arndale has also signed a deal with Colette, the Australian handbag brand, for its first store outside of London and second in the UK. Colette, which was founded by Colette Hayman in 2010 will be taking a 2,200 sq ft store on a 10-year lease.

In addition, Nespresso has re-stated its commitment to Manchester Arndale taking up a permanent store in a 1,700 sq ft unit on a 10-year lease. Vision Express has also relocated within the centre, investing in a brand new store and signing up to a 10-year lease.

These latest leasing announcements follows Paul Smith opening at the partnership's close-by boutique destination, New Cathedral Street, and the impending arrivals of Victoria's Secret and Victoria's Secret PINK at Manchester Arndale, due to open later this year.

Colin Flinn, Regional Managing Director at intu, on behalf of the joint venture, said: "The fact that Colette has chosen Manchester Arndale for its first store outside of London and Footasylum will be locating its new women's concept at the centre is clear evidence that Manchester Arndale remains one of the top trading locations for international brands entering the UK market and established brands looking to launch exciting new offers.

"We are always working to curate an unbeatable line up of global brands at Manchester Arndale and this latest round of deals further enhances the offer for the 41 million shoppers which visit the centre annually."

The retained agents acting for intu and M&G Real Estate at Manchester Arndale are JLL and Metis Real Estate Advisors. Lawson Hubbard Lowe advised Footasylum and CBRE represented Colette.
