Shaftesbury has appointed Hanover Green as joint leisure and retail agents for Carnaby Street, working alongside Colliers International, CoStar News can reveal.

The company will advise the West End landlord on lettings across its Carnaby Village estate, replacing Cushman & Wakefield as joint agents with Colliers.

Carnaby Village, known for its quirky fashion brands and emerging restaurants, comprises 14 streets including Kingly Court and Foubert's Place, Newburgh Street and part of Marshall and Beak street.

The area has 59 restaurants and cafes covering 109,000 sq ft and 97 shops spanning 179,000 sq ft, generating 66% of the income from the village – with offices accounting for the rest. The village was valued at £1.1bn as at March 2017 and accounts for 35% of Shaftesbury’s portfolio.

The appointment of Hanover Green comes after the firm recruited Laura Thursfield earlier this month from Cushman & Wakefield’s central London retail agency team. Thursfield has a longstanding relationship with Shaftesbury having advised the firm on their Carnaby Estate for several years on lettings including Axel Arigato Urban Decay and G-Shock.

All parties declined to comment.
