Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons has signed up to its first store in Wales, at the Queens Arcade Shopping Centre in Cardiff.

Tim Hortons is taking a new 10 year lease for 2,500 sq ft at Unit 20, Queens Arcade. This is a prominent store at the main entrance to the shopping centre.

The coffee and doughnut chain was founded in 1964 by former NHL ice hockey player Miles “Tim” Horton and now has around 4,400 restaurants in Canada, the United States and the Middle East. Last year its owner RBI announced plans to expand in the UK, intially targeting Cardiff, Glasgow and Manchester for its expansion.

Calan Retail advised Addington, which owns the centre in partnership with EPISO, an opportunity fund advised by Tristan Capital Partners.

Alex Wagstaff of Addington Capital said, “We are delighted to welcome Tim Hortons to the Queens Arcade Shopping Centre and pleased that it has chosen Cardiff as its first shop in Wales. Tim Hortons is a big brand in Canada and the US and its arrival will be a real attraction for our customers."
