Richard Day has been appointed as a senior director to spearhead debt origination within its London Capital Markets team.

Day is joining from DWS (previously Deutsche Asset Management) where he was a director in the European Debt Investments team.

Prior to this he was a director in Wells Fargo’s Commercial Real Estate team.

CBRE said he has a "wealth of experience in originating and structuring senior, whole and mezzanine debt transactions as well as established relationships with a wide variety of lenders".

Day will work jointly with CBRE’s established Debt and Structured Finance team, led by Paul Coates, CBRE’s newly appointed European Head of Debt and Structured Finance, and the 40-strong London Investment Properties team, which is led by James Beckham.

His appointment follows a number of significant hires within the Capital Markets business, including Beckham and Coates, and CBRE said "further strengthens CBRE’s service offer for an increasing number of clients seeking corporate finance expertise on origination and execution of complex corporate acquisitions, equity raisings and debt advisory".

Richard Dakin, Managing Director, CBRE Capital Advisors, said: “We are delighted that Richard will be joining our 30-strong Debt and Structured Finance team. In the current market, clients are increasingly looking for optionality around transactions and want combined real estate and financial solutions. We have a market leading real estate investment team working hand in hand with corporate finance experts, which I believe is a powerful proposition for our clients.”

James Beckham, Executive Director, CBRE London added: “Richard’s expertise in the debt market will strengthen our London Investment offering immeasurably and help clients navigate the increasingly challenging and complex property market.”
