GVA has moved to Sutherland House at 149 St Vincent Street, in the heart of Glasgow’s business district.

The property consultancy has signed a 10-year lease for the first floor of the recently refurbished building, occupying 4,698 sq ft.

GVA will move from 206 St Vincent Street back to the a building where it once occupied the fifth floor.

The letting follows the recent ground floor letting to health care giant BUPA following the £1.6m refurbishment of the landmark building, which is also home to CBRE, the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations and Itelligence.

Once the headquarters of global thread manufacture J&P Coats, Sutherland House was designed by  architect James Miller whose other projects include Wemyss Bay Railway Station and the Turnberry Hotel.

Fergus Maclennan, Associate at Cushman & Wakefield, who acted on behalf of the landlord with joint agents Knight Frank, said: “It speaks volumes about the architectural design and quality of the refurbishment work that after having carried out a full search of the market, Sutherland House impressed GVA the most thanks to its stunning feature entrance and the bright open plan floor plates on the corner of St Vincent and Wellington Street.”

“Architects Corstorphine + Wright have done an amazing job bringing out the art deco features of the building with a contemporary design.”

There are three available office floors remaining within Sutherland House.
