The global commercial real estate market is beginning to descend on Cannes today for the 29th annual MIPIM conference. Click through for a guide to what to expect this year and for the all important weather report.

The weather is forecast to be a pleasant 17 to 18 degrees celsius from Monday to Wednesday, with showers and a drop in temperature likely on Thursday and Friday.

Over 24,500 participants from over 100 countries are expected to attend MIPIM this year, up on 2017’s final figure of 24,200, including over 6,082 participants from the UK, a 13% increase on the last year’s final UK attendance figure.

Representatives from more than 500 cities and local authorities from around the world will also be attending, including London, Belfast, Manchester, Newcastle, and the West Midlands Combined Authority.

The UK government’s Department for International Trade is also present, leading a cross-government delegation, with a programme of panel sessions developed in partnership with the British Property Federation aimed at giving investors the knowledge and confidence they need to invest in regeneration and infrastructure opportunities across the UK.

MIPIM is once again aiming to provide an international platform for the key themes facing commercial real estate.

CoStar News will be following the key stories throughout, while keeping an eye on Tuesday's Spring Statement from the Chancellor back in the UK!
