Martin's appoints Richard Bourne MD among string of senior appointments

Martin’s Properties, the property investment and development company based in Central London and operating throughout the South of England, has appointed Richard Bourne as Managing Director.

Previously Head of Property at RO Real Estate, Bourne has been Property Director at Martin’s Properties for the past year and is the first non-family member to be appointed as Managing Director of the business.

Established as a family business in 1946 the company has grown to become one of the largest property portfolio owners in Kensington and Chelsea and has continued to expand its portfolio across London and the South East.

Richard Bourne Managing Director said: “I am very proud to take up the position of Managing Director of Martin’s Properties, a fantastic business with an enviable history and track record. I am honoured to be the first Managing Director of the business outside of the Martin family and will look to build on its strong foundations. Our Vision is to be an active, dynamic and fully diversified property company which remains true to its core values. I look forward to working with the team to deliver our strategy.”

Former Managing Director Tom Martin, who has managed Martin’s Properties since 2008 will now become chairman of parent company Martin’s Family Holdings and remains Executive Director of Martin’s Properties.

Bob Tattar, previously Head of Commercial Finance at Capco and more recently CEO of Priors Hall Park has joined as Finance Director, replacing Paul Nicholson who moves across into Martin’s Family Holdings. Additionally, Peter Bedbrook joins from Romulus and formerly Finchatton, Peter has been appointed as a Project Manager.

Tom Martin Chairman of Martin’s Family Holdings, said: “We are thrilled that Richard has taken up the mantle of Managing Director and with the further appointment of Bob Tattar to succeed Paul Nicholson as Chief Financial Officer as we move into a new chapter for Martin’s Properties. These appointments build on our strategy to consolidate our strong core holdings in Chelsea whilst expanding our portfolio into regional markets with good rental and capital growth potential enabling us to deploy more of our cash into strong markets, towns and assets. ”

As part of the changes to the business, Martin’s Properties has undergone a complete rebrand including a new website.

Richard Bourne said: “We wanted to refresh our brand to further reflect our vision and strategy to diversify the portfolio and to showcase our portfolio of prime properties.”
