Gibraltar lands flurry of Edinburgh Fort Kinnaird lettings

The Gibraltar Limited Partnership, advised by British Land, has secured 50,000 sq ft of lettings at Fort Kinnaird in Edinburgh.

The lettings include:

Wagamama, which will open a new 4,000 sqft pan-Asian inspired restaurant in 2019

Jeweller Swarovski will open a 1,460 sq ft store

Footwear retail Skechers will open a 6,500 sq ft shop

Barrhead Travel, the UK’s leading independent travel group, will open a 2,000 sq ft store

Elegance will open a 400 sq ft kiosk offering beauty treatments

Recent openings include:

The 23,500 sq.ft flagship Currys PC World store

Footwear retailer schuh and schuh kids opened a 5,000 sq ft store

JD Sports doubled their store to 10,000 sq.ft

Grace Hodnett, Asset Manager for British Land, said: “Understanding our customers at Fort Kinnaird has provided valuable insight into which brands will thrive at our centre. We’ve therefore been able to grow footfall and consumer spend for our occupiers and attract further new brands to the scheme. Our focus continues to be on creating the right environment for retailers and consumers.”

Fort Kinnaird has over 560,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space including a 39,000 sq ft Primark, a seven screen Odeon cinema and a range of restaurants. The centre provides 2,000 jobs and contributes £53m to Edinburgh’s economy each year, Gross Value Added (GVA).

The Gibraltar Limited Partnership is a 50/50 joint venture between Hercules Unit Trust (HUT) and The Crown Estate. The partnership also owns the Gallagher retail centre in Cheltenham.

British Land is Property Adviser to HUT and Crestbridge Hercules Management IC is the Manager.
