Workspace commits to WiredScore ratings

Workspace has today announced its commitment to certifying 50 buildings across its portfolio to a Wired Certified Gold rating or above by international connectivity rating scheme WiredScore by 2019.

To date, WiredScore has certified 15 of Workspace’s locations at a Wired Certified Gold rating or above.

Workspace hosts a diverse community of around 4,000 businesses in spaces across the Capital, including the City, Kennington, Farringdon and London Bridge. Each enterprise, from newly formed start-ups to multinational corporations, comes with its own unique set of needs and ambitions, but one thing that all modern businesses have in common is a reliance on exceptional connectivity. The partnership with WiredScore represents one element of ‘The Workspace Advantage’: the company’s ambition to furnish London businesses with the best office environment to help them succeed.

This includes world-class technology infrastructure, design-led locations with space to grow, and opportunities to network and collaborate.

Chris Pieroni, Operations Director, Workspace, said: “London is the world’s financial hub, one of the globe’s tech capitals and a growing hotspot for creative industries. Given the Capital’s strength in attracting and growing business, you would expect all businesses to have access to the same standard of high-speed, resilient connectivity. Instead there is a significant variance, which has traditionally disadvantaged smaller organisations that don’t have the resources for a dedicated team to maintain their digital infrastructure. In fact, one in four small businesses in the UK are held back by unreliable internet connections.

“At Workspace, it’s important for us to play a leading role in providing London’s most enterprising businesses with the environment they need to succeed. We have already achieved Wired Certified Gold or above at 15 locations and intend to roll out the accreditation across our portfolio. The work we are doing to secure these ratings reiterates our commitment to the needs of our occupiers and the globally recognised seal of approval should reassure our customers.”

Mark Bembridge, CEO of Smartology, based at Workspace’s Metal Box Factory in Southwark, said: “As an advertising technology company, it is crucial that our own tech capabilities are of the highest quality, and the Wired Certified Platinum rating gives us peace of mind that the infrastructure in our office will support our operations. We are encouraged to see Workspace’s continued dedication to facilitating reliable connectivity for its customers, which was a driving factor behind choosing Metal Box Factory as our London base.”

William Newton, President & EMEA Managing Director, WiredScore, said: “Connectivity is critical to business operations. By seeking a Wired Certified Gold rating or above for 50 buildings of their portfolio, Workspace has demonstrated its outstanding commitment to delivering excellent connectivity in its properties and making sure its tenants are in a space they can thrive in.”
